Kami Town in western Japan held its first ‘snow begging’ ritual in 23 years as lack of snowfall has pressured ski resorts to stay closed.

At Ryugu Shrine, positioned on the base of Hachibuse Mountain in Hyogo Prefecture, and residential to a dragon deity thought-about a god of water, tourism affiliation members and ski resort representatives carried out the snow begging ritual Saturday morning, hoping for snowfall.

The three ski resorts in Kami Town are often bustling with folks round this time annually. However, this season has seen little snowfall, main all of the resorts to droop operations.
