School instructor busted embezzling ‘nature program’ funds

A instructor from a Himeji City public elementary college in Hyogo Prefecture has been arrested on suspicion of embezzling roughly 270,000 yen meant for the meals funds of a nature college program.

Additionally, about 2.3 million yen has gone lacking from the college, and the police are investigating.

According to the police, the suspect and instructor at Himeji City Higashi Elementary School, was arrested on suspicion of embezzling 270,000 yen in August final 12 months, which had been earmarked for a 4-night, 5-day experiential studying program referred to as “Nature School” for fifth graders.

At the time, Kitayama was accountable for the college’s nature program accounts. The college had obtained a notification about unpaid quantities from a vendor, main them to seek the advice of with the police.

In response to the investigation, the instructor denies the allegations, stating, “I certainly withdrew the money from the school’s account, but I kept the cash at home.”
