Samba Dancers Draw Thousands at Rainy Kobe Festival

KOBE, Apr 22 (News On Japan) –
The streets of Kobe had been full of coloration and power because the annual Kobe Festival unfolded on a drizzly Sunday. Samba dancers, adorned in vibrant costumes, paraded down the principle avenue, fascinating the rain-soaked crowd with their spirited performances.

This 12 months marked the 51st iteration of the Kobe Festival, which noticed participation from 66 teams, together with samba and cheerleading groups, with over 5,000 members in complete. The full of life procession attracted giant crowds alongside the parade route, undeterred by the climate.

“Awe-inspiring mix of dragons and samba,” one spectator exclaimed. Another shared, “Despite the rain, everyone’s effort brought so much energy.”

As a part of the pageant, highschool college students from Kobe carried out “Tobitatsu Toki,” a bit historically performed on the Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Festival in Ishikawa Prefecture. This efficiency was a symbolic gesture of help for the reconstruction of the Noto Peninsula, which was devastated by an earthquake.
