SAITAMA (TR) – Saitama Prefectural Police on Thursday screened a movie whose purpose is to eradicate the groping of girls inside railway carriages, stories Nippon News Network (April 27).
The screening happened at a Saitama City highschool. Girls of highschool age are sometimes the targets of chikan, or gropers.
In the four-minute clip (linked beneath), a lady will get the braveness to report a groping incident to a railway employees member and the police.
Saitama law enforcement officials who participated within the screening appealed to the viewers, urging them to lift their voices to get rid of groping.
“[If I witnessed a molestation taking place], I wondered what the girl would think if I spoke to her now,” one viewer stated, “or if I could speak to her at all because I was concerned about what others might think. I wish I had the courage to speak out.”
Police plan to stream the movie at railway stations sooner or later.
