Princess Aiko attended the opening ceremony of a world convention on semiconductor physics on the morning of August 17, expressing condolences for these killed within the Kumamoto earthquake and torrential rain in Chiba Prefecture earlier than addressing researchers from around the globe.
The worldwide convention, held as soon as each two years, brings collectively researchers in semiconductor physics from 34 nations and areas.
“I believe it is highly significant that active discussions can help show the way toward advances in science and technology and the realization of a better society, while also fostering new forms of cooperation that transcend academic fields and national borders,” Princess Aiko stated.
At the start of her remarks, she expressed condolences for many who died within the Kumamoto earthquake and the heavy rain in Chiba, in addition to sympathy for folks affected by the disasters.
