Princess Aiko Contemplates Solo Pilgrimage

TOKYO, Feb 29 (News On Japan) –
Princess Aiko, the eldest daughter of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, is contemplating visiting the Ise Grand Shrine in Mie Prefecture on the finish of subsequent month, making it her first solo go to to the shrine, in accordance with sources.

According to sources, Princess Aiko is planning a two-day journey to go to the Ise Grand Shrine in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, and the mausoleum of Emperor Jimmu in Kashihara City, Nara Prefecture, in the direction of the tip of subsequent month.

The go to is seen as a strategy to report important milestones in her life, as Princess Aiko is about to graduate from Gakushuin University and begin working on the Japanese Red Cross Society this spring.

Although Princess Aiko visited the Ise Grand Shrine with Their Majesties in July 2014, this can be her first go to alone.

The Ise Grand Shrine is devoted to Amaterasu Omikami, the ancestral deity of the imperial household, and it’s customary for members of the imperial household to go to the shrine on events reminiscent of ascension to the throne, abdication, marriage, and reaching maturity.
