Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 16 (ANI): Amid the row over ‘vote theft’ allegations, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday claimed that individuals are ‘dissatisfied’ with the Election Commission’s working.
Speaking to reporters, Akhilesh Yadav stated that questions have been raised on the ballot physique over a number of elections.
He stated, ‘From time to time, fingers have been pointed on the Election Commission, whether or not it’s the election for village head, meeting election, Lok Sabha election, or every other election.’
‘Ensuring free and honest elections and growing individuals’s belief within the establishment is the Election Commission’s accountability… But we’re seeing that individuals are dissatisfied with the way in which the Election Commission is working,’ the Samajwadi Party chief stated.
He claimed that no motion was taken even after submitting an affidavit concerning a voter fraud of 18,000 votes.
Yadav stated, ‘Recently, the INDIA alliance raised its voice in opposition to vote theft, and the outcome was that even the Supreme Court needed to agree with the Opposition’s stance. We gave an affidavit concerning a voter fraud of 18,000 votes, however no motion was taken. If motion is taken in opposition to even a single officer of the Election Commission, then there might be no vote theft, vote theft, or any such looting wherever.’

Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition within the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Saturday shared a spoof video impressed by the movie Laapataa Ladies, reiterating the Congress’s ‘vote theft’ allegations in opposition to the Election Commission and urging individuals to hitch the ‘Vote Chori se Azaadi’ marketing campaign.
Sharing the video on X, Rahul Gandhi wrote, ‘Chori chori, chupke chupke… ab or nahi, janta jag gayi hai, (Secretly, stealthily… No extra now, the general public has woke up).’
