The Passport Office on Lalbagh Road obtained a bomb risk by way of electronic mail, triggering a safety alert on Tuesday. However, it turned out to be a hoax, the police stated after conducting thorough inspection of the premises.
Personnel from the bomb disposal squad and police groups carried out a radical inspection of the premises and surrounding areas. Officials from S.R. Nagar and Wilson Garden police stations, together with an anti-sabotage squad, carried out detailed checks as a part of precautionary measures.
Police sources stated that no suspicious objects have been discovered in the course of the preliminary search.

Security in and across the Passport Office has been tightened.
Further investigation has been launched to hint the supply of the e-mail and determine the particular person behind the hoax bomb risk.
The High Court of Karnataka in Dharwad, district courts in Mysuru, Gadag, and Bagalkot and the Tahsildar workplace at Sedam obtained related bomb threats emails, all of which turned out to be a hoax.
