Osaka Hikes Accommodation Tax

OSAKA, Sep 02 (News On Japan) –
Osaka Prefecture raised its lodging tax by as much as 200 yen beginning September 1st.

Until then, visitors staying at inns with nightly charges of seven,000 yen or extra had been topic to a tax starting from 100 yen to 300 yen, relying on the room charge. Under the revised ordinance, the brink was lowered to five,000 yen, and the tax was raised to between 200 yen and 500 yen per evening, in line with the lodging price.

The improve is anticipated to raise annual lodging tax income by round 6 billion yen, bringing the full to roughly 8 billion yen.
