TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested 9 males on suspicion of promoting unlawful grownup video DVDs within the Kabukicho red-light district of Shinjuku Ward, stories the Asahi Shimbun (Feb. 26).
According to police, Yoshinori Iizuka, 56, Shinji Yasuda, 41, and 7 different suspects are suspected of working collectively to promote uncensored grownup video DVDs to an unspecified variety of prospects on the streets and in buildings of Kabukicho in January.
Under the regulation, the genitalia of the performers in such productions have to be obscured with what is named a mosaic.
Upon their arrests on suspicion of distribution of obscene electromagnetic recording media and different costs, eight of the suspects admitted to the costs. The ninth suspect acknowledged, “I have nothing to do with this.”
Police have recognized 5 patrons who bought a complete of 245 DVDs for 73,000 yen. Their common age was 73. One man, aged in his 70s, who lives in Hokkaido Prefecture mentioned, “I didn’t know how to watch uncensored videos online.”
Police suspect that the suspects saved uncensored DVDs at dwelling and stocked them coin-operated lockers in Kabukicho on the market. They then approached aged males on the streets and offered them with such pitches as, “There are no stores. We’ll sell you a set of different genres for 10,000 yen.”
Based on the suspects’ statements, the division can be investigating the likelihood {that a} portion of the gross sales is being funneled to folks related to organized crime.
