TOKYO –
JA Zen-Noh Niigata selected August 18 to set its advance cost for traditional Koshihikari rice from the 2026 crop at 18,500 yen per 60 kilograms of brown rice, about 40% decrease than a yr earlier as inventories proceed to construct.
The advance cost is made by the JA Group to producers when it collects their rice and is carefully linked to costs for newly harvested rice.
The sharp decline in Niigata, Japan’s largest rice-producing prefecture, is anticipated to have an effect on pricing in different areas as properly.
