A brand new Japanese-made high-speed practice developed for Taiwan arrived within the southern metropolis of Kaohsiung on August 15, with industrial operations scheduled to start in July 2027.
The new practice, designated the N700ST, was unloaded slowly from a cargo vessel, displaying its distinctive orange and black stripes earlier than an arrival ceremony was held.
The N700ST relies on the N700S used on Japan’s Tokaido Shinkansen and was specifically developed for Taiwan High Speed Rail.
The trains had been ordered from a consortium together with Hitachi and Toshiba.
