Navies of India, Australia, Japan, US, France and UK to take part in Exercise La Perouse

New Delhi [India], March 13 (ANI): Personnel, ships and integral helicopters of the Royal Australian Navy, French Navy, Indian Navy, Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force, Royal Navy and the United States Navy will take part in Exercise La Perouse. The third version of the multilateral train La Perouse will probably be carried out within the Indian Ocean Region from March 13-14.

The biennial train La Perouse is carried out by the French Navy and goals to reinforce maritime area consciousness and optimise maritime coordination amongst the taking part navies within the Indo-Pacific area, the Ministry of Defence stated in a press launch.

The two-day train gives a chance for like-minded navies to develop nearer hyperlinks in planning, coordination and data sharing for seamless maritime operations, in keeping with the press launch. Exercise La Perouse will embody advanced and superior naval operations, together with floor warfare, anti-air warfare, air defence workout routines, cross-deck landings and tactical manoeuvres.

Indian Navy’s indigenously constructed guided missile frigate INS Sahyadri and fleet tanker INS Jyoti will take part within the third version of the multilateral train, in keeping with the press launch. Earlier, the Indian Navy’s indigenously constructed guided missile frigate, INS Sahyadri participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with French Navy (FN) ships FS Dixmude, a Mistral Class Amphibious Assault Ship and FS La Fayette, a La Fayette Class Frigate, within the Arabian Sea. The partnership train was carried out on March 10-11.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the train witnessed a large spectrum of evolutions at sea which included cross-deck landings, boarding workout routines and seamanship evolutions.
