The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) held the Japan-Korea Export Control Policy Dialogue from March 14-16.
Through the coverage dialogue, METI has reviewed the effectiveness of Korea’s export management together with the group of the export management authority and its operations, and implementation of a regulatory framework for the three related objects; fluorinated polyimide, hydrogen fluoride and resist.
As a results of the evaluation of the state of affairs together with the enhancement of the group and operations of Korea’s export management authority, and the implementation of the institution of a regulatory framework, METI acknowledged that Korea has improved its initiatives and effectiveness in these respects.
METI additionally confirmed that the Korean facet will announce the withdrawal of its criticism to the WTO relating to Japan’s export management.
As such, METI stated it’s going to revise the present operation of export management for these three objects to Korea. At this timing of our revision, it’s going to inform and/or remind associated Japanese home enterprise entities to completely test the transaction together with end-users of the merchandise.
Regarding the nation classes by each nations in relation to export management, METI and MOTIE will proceed the coverage dialogue.
