Many Japanese college students need to put on masks for commencement ceremony, ballot finds

TOKYO, Feb 15 (NHK) –
A ballot carried out by a public junior highschool in Kochi City, western Japan, exhibits that solely about 20 p.c of third-year college students need to take their masks off for his or her commencement ceremony subsequent month.

The ballot was carried out after the training ministry introduced the easing of mask-wearing guidelines at faculties following a drop in coronavirus infections. The ministry mentioned college students and school principally don’t have to put on masks for this 12 months’s commencement ceremony, apart from once they sing collectively and in different conditions.

Joto Junior High School requested its 130 third-year college students final week about mask-wearing via a present of palms.

Of the whole, 54 p.c mentioned they need to preserve their masks on, whereas 23 p.c mentioned they need to take them off.

Another 23 p.c of the scholars mentioned they’re undecided.
