Keidanren has determined to nominate Yoshinobu Tsutsui, chairman of Nippon Life Insurance, because the successor to present chairman Masakazu Tokura, who will retire in May 2025. This marks the primary time a pacesetter from a monetary establishment has been chosen to move Keidanren.
The group plans to current the proposal to make Tsutsui the subsequent chairman throughout a gathering of its chairman and vice-chairmen scheduled for January 2024. The formal choice is anticipated to be made on the basic assembly in May 2024.
Traditionally, Keidanren chairmen have been chosen from executives within the manufacturing sector. However, Tokura said in May this yr that “it is no longer necessary to limit the selection to those from manufacturing. We want to make the best choice regardless of the industry.”
