According to JR East, the Joetsu Shinkansen had been suspended on the inbound line between Niigata Station and Echigo-Yuzawa Station, however operations resumed at 2:38 p.m. on the 2nd.
The Joetsu Shinkansen has now resumed operation on all traces.
