Japan’s New Cycling Law Targets Mobile Phones and Alcohol

TOKYO, Aug 30 (News On Japan) –
Starting November 1, Japan’s revised Road Traffic Act will designate using cellphones and biking inebriated as harmful acts, requiring violators to attend a course at a licensing middle.

The new additions be part of 15 current offenses, reminiscent of ignoring site visitors alerts and driving towards site visitors on sidewalks, that have been already thought of hazardous. Those caught committing these newly added infractions will probably be topic to a three-hour lecture at a licensing middle.

The price for this necessary course is 6,000 yen. Failure to adjust to the order to attend the course might lead to a tremendous of as much as 50,000 yen.

The National Police Agency plans to lift public consciousness about these two newly acknowledged harmful behaviors to make sure compliance with the up to date laws.
