The announcement comes a day after the federal government stated it had gained “a degree of understanding” from the fishing business over the discharge of the water into the Pacific Ocean, whilst fishing teams stated they nonetheless feared the reputational harm would smash their livelihood.

The water will initially be launched in smaller parts and with further checks, with the primary discharge totalling 7,800 cubic metres over about 17 days beginning Thursday, Tepco stated.
