Japan Speeds Up Efforts to Mass-Produce Next-Gen Semiconductors

TOKYO, Mar 27 (News On Japan) –
Rapidus, an organization aiming to domestically produce next-generation semiconductors, plans to start working its prototype line for superior chips in April. The firm is accelerating improvement of 2-nanometer-class semiconductors, anticipated for use in synthetic intelligence (AI) functions.

As Taiwan and South Korea at the moment lead within the subject, a key problem for Rapidus is whether or not it might probably set up a strong technological basis for mass manufacturing.

On March twenty fifth, Rapidus introduced a partnership with Singapore-based Quest Global, which makes a speciality of semiconductor design. At a press convention in Tokyo, Rapidus President Atsuyoshi Koike stated, “Preparations for starting prototype production in April are progressing smoothly without delay.”
