Japan started producing a commemorative 1,000-yen silver coin marking 100 years for the reason that begin of the Showa period on the Japan Mint in Osaka on August 31, with a first-striking ceremony held to mark the beginning of manufacturing.
The coin options colourful illustrations of symbols related to the Showa period, together with Tokyo Tower, the unique Series 0 Shinkansen bullet practice and expressways.
According to the Japan Mint, the coin is product of pure silver and measures 4 centimeters in diameter, with a weight of 31.1 grams.

A complete of 40,000 cash shall be bought for 34,800 yen every.
Purchases shall be restricted to 1 coin per individual, and consumers shall be chosen by lottery if purposes exceed the quantity out there.
