Japan’s overseas alternate reserves fell by a report quantity in August, reflecting the impression of foreign money market intervention by the federal government and the Bank of Japan on the finish of July, the Finance Ministry stated on September 7.

Foreign reserves stood at $1.207524 trillion, or about 188 trillion yen, on the finish of August, down $79.575 billion, or about 12 trillion yen, from the earlier month.

The decline marked the fourth consecutive month-to-month lower.

The price of decline was the most important since comparable information started in April 2000.

The Finance Ministry stated the lower was affected by overseas alternate intervention carried out by the federal government and the Bank of Japan on the finish of July.
