USGS = According to the Geological Survey of the United States, there was an earthquake with an epicenter west of Sumatra Island in Indonesia round 5:00 am on the twenty fifth Japan time.

The depth of the epicenter is estimated to be 15.5 km, and the magnitude, which signifies the size of the earthquake, is estimated to be 7.1.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is investigating the potential for a tsunami brought on by this earthquake.
