New Delhi [India], July 2 (ANI): PM Modi on Monday hailed the settlement between India and Japan on the primary co-development venture involving the Naval Radio Antenna ‘UNICORN,’ describing it as a ‘new chapter between’ within the defence expertise partnership between the 2 nations.
Addressing the press along with his Japanese counterpart Sanae Takaichi, PM Modi stated that the 2 nations will start work in direction of joint improvement of defence applied sciences that assist increase regional peace and maritime safety.
‘In the defence sector, we’ve signed an settlement immediately on the primary co-development venture between India and Japan. Notably, in November 2024, a Memorandum of Implementation was signed on the Embassy of India, Tokyo, between the Government of India and the Government of Japan for the co-development of the UNICORN mast for fitment onboard Ships of the Indian Navy.
The Unified Complex Radio Antenna (UNICORN) is a mast with Integrated Communication techniques which is able to assist enhance the stealth traits of Naval Platforms.
On the opposite hand, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, in her assertion, stated that Japan and India should leverage their power and stated that the initiatives launched immediately will pave the way in which for peace.
