A large tornado-like phenomenon was noticed late within the morning of October 2nd off the coast of Tsuruoka in Yamagata Prefecture’s Shonai area, with thick swirling clouds rising excessive into the sky as seawater was drawn upward.
The uncommon occasion occurred shortly after 11 a.m. offshore from Tsuruoka City. A viewer captured video footage exhibiting a towering, funnel-shaped cloud reaching towards the heavens whereas spray from the ocean beneath fashioned a mist-like look. According to meteorological explanations, chilly air aloft had moved into the area round that point, creating robust convection. Warm air from the floor rose quickly, forming cumulonimbus clouds, which in flip triggered the tornado-like phenomenon.
Experts be aware that in spring and autumn, when the temperature distinction between the higher ambiance and the floor widens, such phenomena usually tend to happen.
