Hokkaido man, 78, survives 19-hour snow burial – TokyoReporter

HOKKAIDO (TR) – Japan’s northern areas have expertise file snowfalls in current weeks.

In the city of Fukushima, a 78-year-old man was rescued final week after enduring being buried in snow for 19 hours at his dwelling, authorities mentioned, stories HTB News (Jan. 30).

At round 10:30 a.m. on January 29, a feminine helper visiting the house known as the hearth division to report that the again door of the person’s home was open and snow was falling.

Firefighters responded to the decision and instantly started looking the mound of snow that had fashioned on the property. They ultimately discovered the person buried face-up within the snow.

The man was rushed to the hospital with hypothermia. However, his situation was not thought of life-threatening.

About one meter of snow had accrued on the roof of the home the earlier night. It is believed that the snow fell on him after he went exterior.

“I heard a loud noise outside, so I went to check on the roof and got caught in the falling snow,” the person informed police.

Authorities imagine he was buried within the snow for roughly 19 hours earlier than being rescued the subsequent day.
