Historic Gunma temple ‘Shakasonji’ goes up in flames

Maebashi, Nov 13 (News On Japan) –
The major constructing of Shakasonji, resting place of rakugo artist Sanyutei Enraku, burnt to the bottom on Sunday.

Security employees reported the blaze at round 4:30 p.m. on the historic temple in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, the place 13 hearth engines battled the blaze that resulted within the complete destruction of the principle corridor, constructed 90 years in the past.

There had been no experiences of accidents, and the hearth didn’t unfold to neighboring homes.

Shakasonji is a Soto Zen Buddhist temple the place the grave of the late rakugo artist Sanyutei Enraku, who handed away in September final 12 months, is situated.
