A 73-year-old man claiming he was simply going for a stroll within the forest has been arrested on suspicion of lighting a number of fires.
The suspect, a resident of Minoh City in Osaka Prefecture with an unknown occupation, was arrested for arson, together with setting fireplace to an area bamboo thicket at round 9:00 AM on Sunday.
Three suspicious fires have been confirmed within the neighborhood from January 2 to six. A police officer patrolling the realm on the morning of January seventh noticed a questionable character lurking.
