New Delhi [India], October 1 (ANI): A brand new Track Slab Manufacturing Facility (TSMF) for the manufacturing of monitor slabs required for the development of ballastless monitor works for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor was opened immediately close to Anand in Gujarat.
“The facility spans over an area of 1 lakh square metres and houses state-of-the-art technology for the production of 45,000 precast track slabs for the MAHSR project. The entire facility has been constructed within eight months from its inception of civil works. 60 high-precision moulds have beenprocured and installed in the facility, which can produce 60 track slabs per day,” in keeping with a press launch by the National High-Speed Rail Corporation.
Approximately 200 monitor slabs are required per monitor kilometre. The facility can retailer as much as 9000 monitor slabs to facilitate seamless monitor set up.
“The Track Slab Manufacturing Facility is fully automated with a Concrete Distribution System. There are various ancillary facilities to support the production of slabs like fully automated rebar processing machines, Rebar Yards for cage fabrication, RO plants, Boiler plants, Curing ponds, Electric overhead travelling (EOT) cranes, Gantry Cranes, etc. The EOTs and gantries at major facilities like the Production Shed, Rebar Shed, and Store ensure mechanized handling of track slab components,” the press launch learn.
Before the beginning of manufacturing, a coaching and certification course was organised, whereby Japanese consultants (mobilised via TC company JARTS from Japan) imparted coaching to Indian engineers based mostly on practices adopted in Japan.
Another monitor slab manufacturing facility is being created at Kim Village close to Surat district in Gujarat for monitor slab development for 236 km of the MAHSR hall in Gujarat. (ANI)
