“He is lying”: Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit on Kejriwal’s ‘poisoning’ Yamuna remarks

New Delhi [India], January 28 (ANI): Congress candidate from New Delhi meeting constituency Sandeep Dikshit on Tuesday took a dig at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) nationwide convenor Arvind Kejriwal over his allegation in opposition to the BJP-ruled Haryana authorities of ‘poisoning’ Yamuna water. Dikshit accused the AAP chief of ‘mendacity’.

Speaking to ANI, Dikshit stated that he’s shocked that no motion is being taken in opposition to him by Haryana Police or Delhi Police.

“This is a serious allegation … Arvind Kejriwal should explain what kind of poison was there (in the water)… He is lying and still allowed to roam free. If a common man alleges the government of genocide, he will be in jail the very next day. I am surprised that no action is being taken against him by Haryana Police or Delhi Police. Where is the election commission?” the Congress chief stated.

“I think either there is an internal alliance between both the parties (AAP and BJP) or these institutions aren’t worried about such issues, even if people get panicked… A case was registered against a person who gave a bomb threat to schools in Delhi. Either what Arvind Kejriwal is saying is true–then he should extend evidence and if not, there must be a case registered against him,” he added.

The comment got here after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) nationwide convener Arvind Kejriwal levelled severe allegations in opposition to the Bharatiya Janata Party, stating that the BJP-ruled Haryana authorities has “poisoned” the Yamuna water provided to Delhi in order that “people die” and the blame comes on the AAP.

“BJP’s Haryana government has poisoned the water in Yamuna. If this water had entered Delhi only to be mixed with the drinking water, many people would have died in Delhi. It would have caused mass genocide,” the previous Delhi chief minister alleged. Kejriwal stated in a press convention whereas claiming that the alertness of the Delhi Jal Board prevented the blending of alleged poisoned water with consuming water.

Kejriwal’s remarks prompted sharp reactions from BJP. Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini warned to file a defamation go well with in opposition to AAP nationwide convenor Arvind Kejriwal over his remarks on the air pollution within the Yamuna river.

“For these blatantly false and disgusting statements, Kejriwal should immediately apologise to the people of Haryana and Delhi for this statement; otherwise, we will file a defamation suit against him,” Saini stated.

Notably, Sandeep Dikshit will tackle Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat within the February 5 meeting polls. (ANI)
