ATHENS, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) — Greek Olympic medalist Stefanos Ntouskos would be the first torchbearer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) mentioned throughout a press convention on Wednesday in Athens.
The athlete who gained the gold in rowing within the 2020 Tokyo Games will begin the torch relay on April 16, whereas the Olympic flame lighting ceremony will happen that day at historical Olympia, in western Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games.
The final torchbearer on Greek soil can be Giannis Fountoulis, the captain of Greece’s males’s nationwide water polo group, who took silver at Tokyo 2020. He would be the final torchbearer contained in the Panathenaic stadium in Athens through the Olympic Flame handover ceremony on April 26.
