Kozo Iizuka, a former senior official convicted in a 2019 automotive crash in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, that killed two folks and injured 9 others, has died on the age of 93. Iizuka handed away in October, reportedly resulting from pure causes.
The crash occurred in April 2019 when a automotive pushed by Iizuka went uncontrolled, killing a mom and her younger daughter and inflicting accidents starting from minor to critical for 9 others. Iizuka was discovered responsible of negligence leading to demise and damage, as he was deemed to have mistaken the accelerator for the brake. Following his conviction, Iizuka was sentenced to 5 years in jail and had been serving his sentence.
Takuya Matsunaga, who misplaced his spouse and daughter within the incident, commented on X: “I extend my heartfelt prayers for his repose. What we as a society must do is not to continue criticizing him but to learn from this tragedy and work together to prevent such incidents in the future.”
