Formula 1 officers are ‘carefully monitoring’ the scenario within the Middle East forward of April’s races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Retaliatory missile strikes rocked the area Saturday after the United States and Israeli launched an assault on Iran.

The F1 season begins in Australia subsequent weekend, then goes to China and Japan earlier than heading to the Middle East for races in Bahrain (April 12) and Saudi Arabia (April 19).

‘Our subsequent three races are in Australia, China and Japan and never within the Middle East — these races are usually not for quite a lot of weeks,’ an F1 spokesperson mentioned Saturday, per The Associated Press. ‘As all the time, we carefully monitor any scenario like this and work carefully with related authorities.’

Tire producer Pirelli on Saturday introduced the cancellation of its scheduled F1 tire testing in Bahrain.
