A 24-year-old suspect who was arrested in an incident during which an explosive was thrown close to Prime Minister Kishida, who was visiting to help the election in Wakayama City, sued the federal government for criticizing the electoral system earlier than the incident. In the judgment, the Osaka High Court dismissed the lawsuit following the primary trial. Police are investigating whether or not dissatisfaction with the electoral system was the motive.
