TOKYO, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) — Ethiopia’s Hailemaryam Kiros broke the meet report to win the Osaka Marathon on Sunday.
Kiros, 26, clocked two hours, six minutes and one second for his first main marathon title, beating the earlier meet report of two:07:31 set by Hoshi Gaku of Japan final 12 months.
Uganda’s Victor Kiplangat completed second, simply two seconds behind, whereas Tanzania’s Alphonce Felix Simbu got here third in 2:06:19.
The ladies’s title was taken by Ethiopia’s Helen Tola Bekele with a meet report of two:22:16. Her compatriot Beyenu Degefa was second in 2:23:07 and Japan’s Momoko Watanabe completed third in 2:23:08.
