A Chinese man who acquired a suspended jail sentence and had his driver’s license revoked after hanging 4 elementary college college students whereas driving drunk in 2025 admitted at his first trial on September 3 that he repeatedly drove with no license whereas nonetheless on probation.
Defendant Deng Hongpeng, 44, drove into a bunch of elementary college college students whereas intoxicated in May 2025 and fled the scene.
He was subsequently sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in jail, suspended for 4 years, and had his driver’s license revoked.
During that trial, Deng informed the court docket that he would “never drive a car again.”
Despite the pledge, Deng was arrested and indicted on suspicion of violating the Road Traffic Act after allegedly driving with no license repeatedly in Saitama Prefecture in June 2026 whereas nonetheless serving his suspended sentence.
Deng appeared on the Koshigaya Branch of the Saitama District Court for his first listening to on September 3.
He reportedly listened to the proceedings whereas staring fixedly forward.
After prosecutors learn out the costs, Deng admitted the allegations, telling the court docket, “It is true. That is correct.”
