Japan’s first absolutely unmanned mini retailer operated by main low cost retailer Don Quijote opened on July 1st inside Osaka Electro-Communication University in Neyagawa City, Osaka Prefecture.
Named “Campus Donki,” the brand new retailer is Don Quijote’s first unmanned compact outlet. It options round 450 moderately priced gadgets, together with rice balls, boxed lunches, and stationery provides.
A reporter on the scene demonstrated: “When you pick up an item and exit the store, the payment is automatically completed.”
Customers first register their bank card info, then scan a QR code on the entrance to achieve entry. Sensors inside the shop detect the gadgets chosen, robotically calculating the whole worth. Simply passing via the exit gate finalizes the transaction.
