WORLD CAPITALS, ninth July, 2026 (WAM) — The US dollar held agency in opposition to most main currencies on Thursday. The US dollar index, which measures the forex in opposition to a basket of six friends, was little modified at 100.96.
The dollar fetched 162.41 yen, hovering close to the strongest degree since 1st July. The euro and the British pound had been largely flat and traded at $1.1426 and $1.3392, respectively.
The New Zealand dollar remained properly bid after the day prior to this’s price hike and the central financial institution’s hawkish stance, extending its beneficial properties by 0.5 p.c to $0.5725. The Australian dollar added 0.1 p.c at $0.6936.
The Japanese yen is struggling to regain floor after hitting 162.71 in a single day, close to its 40-year trough.
