Lucasfilm’s visible results and animation studio in Singapore will shut down within the coming months attributable to financial causes, dad or mum agency Disney mentioned on Tuesday.
The Singapore studio was arrange within the 2000s by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), which was based by “Star Wars” creator George Lucas and is a division of Lucasfilm.
For years, its residence in Singapore was the putting Sandcrawler constructing, named after the “Star Wars” transport that impressed its design. Lucasfilm offered the constructing in 2021.
“Over the next several months, ILM will be consolidating its global footprint and winding down its Singapore studio due to economic factors affecting the industry,” Disney mentioned in an announcement.

The Singapore studio was concerned in high-profile Hollywood productions together with “Iron Man”, “The Avengers” and “Star Wars” movies, based on the EDB’s web site.
