Cubs land Japan’s Seiya Suzuki for reported $70M

Japanese outfielder Seiya Suzuki is ready to hitch the Chicago Cubs on a five-year deal reportedly value $70 million.

Suzuki, 27, is taken into account a middle-of-the-order bat, along with his 38 residence runs final season in Japan and a .319 batting common.

Suzuki received the 2019 Central League batting title and is a previous Home Run Derby champion recognized for tape-measure photographs as a right-hander who might pepper Waveland Avenue at Wrigley Field.

The four-time All-Star can also be a three-time Gold Glove winner.

After 9 seasons with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in Nippon Professional Baseball, Suzuki posted to be eligible to play Major League Baseball on Nov. 22. Teams weren’t in a position to recruit or meet with Suzuki throughout the 99-day lockout.
