Crackdown on Cyclists Using Mobile Phones

Japan’s Cabinet has authorised an modification to the Road Traffic Law aimed toward introducing a system to impose fines, often known as “blue tickets,” for reckless bicycle using.

The modification specifies that the visitors violation notification system, or “blue tickets,” will apply to people aged 16 and above. It covers roughly 115 kinds of violations, together with operating purple lights, failing to cease briefly, and violating visitors lane rules.

With this modification, “using a mobile phone while riding” may even be added as a brand new violation.
