KYOTO, Jul 25 (News On Japan) –
At Kyoto’s Gion Festival, the procession of floats (Yamaboko Junko) occurred on Wednesday, dazzling spectators with their vibrant floats regardless of the extreme warmth.
“Enyaraya~” echoed via the streets as the colourful procession of 11 floats captivated onlookers within the sweltering warmth.
At 9:30 a.m. on July twenty fourth, the 11 floats, accompanied by the sounds of “Konchikichin” from the Gion Hayashi music, started their journey down Oike Street, led by the Hashi Benkei Yama.
Revived a decade in the past after practically half a century, the Yamaboko Junko seeks to protect the unique type of the Gion Festival. Unlike the principle procession, it follows a reverse route, showcasing the “Tsuji Mawashi,” a maneuver the place the floats flip 90 levels at intersections.
The Gion Festival will conclude with the “Nagoshi Festival” on July thirty first.
