China safe ladies's singles title at badminton Hylo Open after semifinals

SAARBRUCKEN, Germany, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) — Shuttlers Zhang Yiman and Han Yue reached the ladies’s singles last right here on Saturday at 2022 BWF World Tour Hylo Open to safe the title prematurely for China.

25-year-old Zhang beat third-seeded Nozomi Okuhara of Japan 21-18, 21-17 in 39 minutes to guide a last spot to satisfy her compatriot 22-year-old Han, who defeated Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia within the different semifinal.

Olympic champion Huang Dongping, paired with Feng Yanzhe, reached the combined doubles last by downing Danish duo Mathias Thyrri and Amalie Magelund 21-19, 21-18.

The second-seeded combined pair, Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue of France, misplaced the three-game semi to Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto and Lisa Ayu Kusumawati from Indonesia 23-21, 14-21, 7-21.

Both Thai pairs claimed victories within the ladies’s doubles semis to safe the title prematurely for Thailand. Top seeded Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai will compete towards the eighth-seeded Aimsaard sisters.

Two Chinese Taipei pairs dominated the lads’s doubles semis. Lu Ching Yao/Yang Po Han and Lee Jhe Huei/Yang Po Hsuan superior to the ultimate by eliminating respectively second seeds Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark and seventh-seeded Ben Lane/Sean Vendy of England.

Men’s singles third seed Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei smashed Toma Junior Popov of France 21-17, 21-11. His last opponent is Indonesian participant Anthony Sinisuka Ginting who beat Indian veteran Kidambi Srikanth 21-18, 21-15.
