Centre has allotted Rs 8 lakh crore for Jal Jeevan Mission implementation: Parliamentary Committee on Water Resources chief Rajiv Pratap Rudy

Idukki (Keralam) [India], June 29 (ANI): BJP MP and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Water Resources Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Monday stated that the Government of India has allotted Rs 8 lakh crore for the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed toward offering secure consuming water to each family within the nation.

Speaking to the media, he stated the committee is actively reviewing a number of features of water sources, together with consuming water provide, irrigation, groundwater depletion, floods, dams and catastrophe administration.

‘This is a robust committee because it offers with consuming water and water sources throughout the nation. The scope is broad. On consuming water, the Prime Minister’s robust initiative–the Jal Jeevan Mission–aims to offer secure water to each family. The Government of India has allotted Rs 8 lakh crore for its implementation nationwide,’ Rudy stated.

He added that Keralam has carried out properly in earlier critiques and is predicted to profit farther from the mission.

The Jal Jeevan Mission was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15, 2019, with the formidable aim of offering faucet water provide to each rural family by 2024. At the time of its inception, solely 3.23 crore (17%) of rural households had faucet water connections. (ANI)
