LA CROSSE, Wisc. — La Crosse County Sheriff’s Office deputy Carsen Jahr and Holmen Police Department officer Walker Stoner have been awarded Monday for saving a lady who was trapped in a burning automotive crash earlier within the month.
On Feb. 13, Jahr responded to a single-vehicle crash at North Bluffview Court in Holmen. Before arrival, dispatchers stated a witness noticed the motive force struck a tree and was unconscious contained in the locked car.
Dispatchers then added that the car’s engine had caught fireplace. A dashboard video from Jahr’s car reveals the deputy break the car’s window, unlock the door and find the motive force with out hesitation.

Stoner arrived shortly after and helped Jahr carry the motive force away from the car after her seat belt was reduce.
Jahr and Stoner offered stabilization efforts away from the blaze, treating the motive force for compound fractures and average bleeding. Holmen officer Charles Fah additionally arrived and utilized a tourniquet.
Fire and emergency medical crews confirmed up a short while later and took the motive force to the hospital for care. The driver survived, and the officers’ actions are credited with saving the motive force.
Sheriff John Siegel awarded Jahr and Stoner with Life Saving Awards on Monday throughout a ceremony within the sheriff’s workplace.
“I could not be more proud of the immediate actions and efforts of these two law enforcement officers. They are a positive reflection of the men and women who serve our communities,” Siegel stated.
