Asian Kabaddi Championships: India proceed successful run with 62-17 victory over Japan

Busan [South Korea], June 28 (ANI): The Indian males’s Kabaddi crew saved its unbeaten streak alive after defeating Japan 62-17 of their Asian Kabaddi Championships 2023 match in Busan, South Korea on Wednesday, clinching their third successive win on the match.

Aslam Inamdar, who was spectacular on his debut towards Korea on Tuesday, acquired his second Super 10 of the match and emerged as the highest scorer within the match. Parvesh Bhainswal led India of their defence, as per Olympics.com.

Both India and Japan got here into the match after two large wins. Japan had gained 85-11 towards Hong Kong and 45-18 towards Korea beforehand, whereas India had gained by 76-13 towards Korea and 53-19 towards Chinese Taipei.

But Japan had no solutions for the sport that Team India performed.

India inflicted six all-outs in Japan, with three of them coming in every half. The defending champions scored their first all-out within the fourth minute itself and raced to a lead of 18-0 earlier than Japan managed to get some factors within the eighth minute.

India ended the primary half with a scoreline of 32-6 of their favour. Skipper Pawan Sehrawat emerged as Team Indis’s high raider with six factors within the first half.

Japan carried out higher within the second half and scored some fast factors. But India was simply too good and managed to win the match by 45 factors.

India will tackle Iran of their highly-anticipated match on Thursday. Iran can be unbeaten within the match to date.

The Asian Championships embrace six groups: India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong. The ultimate might be held on Friday and can embrace the highest two groups from the single-leg round-robin competitors. (ANI)
