In 1987, a person with a shotgun broke into the Hanshin department of the Asahi Shimbun in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, killing and wounding two journalists. Acquaintances and locals visited the bureau to mourn the deceased reporter.

On the third, the thirty sixth anniversary of the incident, acquaintances of reporter Kojiri and locals visited the prayer corridor on the primary flooring of the department workplace one after one other and put their arms collectively.
