BEIJING, March 27 (Xinhua) — Japanese animated fantasy journey movie “Suzume” topped the Chinese mainland field workplace Sunday, the third day of its screening, figures from the China Movie Data Information Network confirmed Monday.
The movie, directed by Makoto Shinkai, raked in almost 93.60 million yuan (about 13.6 million U.S. {dollars}) on Sunday.
The animation follows the unlikely encounter between a 17-year-old woman and a mysterious younger man who embarks on a journey to stop a sequence of disasters throughout Japan.
Directed by and starring Dong Chengpeng, home comedy “Post Truth” got here in second, ending the day with a field workplace income of almost 30.48 million yuan.
It was adopted by home drama “The Best Is Yet to Come” which pocketed about 8.98 million yuan on Sunday.
