According to the Ministry of Defense, at round 12:44 p.m. on the thirty first, a helicopter violated Japanese airspace off the coast of the Nemuro Peninsula in Hokkaido, and an Air Self-Defense Force fighter jet scrambled to reply. The helicopter is believed to be a Russian plane.
