The award ceremony for the Japan Art Academy Award, which is given to individuals who have made excellent achievements within the subject of artwork, was held in Tokyo with the attendance of Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress.
At the award ceremony, every of the winners stepped ahead in entrance of Their Majesties and obtained certificates of advantage from Shuji Takashina, Director of the Japan Art Academy.
Afterwards, Their Majesties obtained explanations about their respective achievements from the recipients of the Imperial Prize, and considered one of them, Mr. Ohi, a craftsman, instructed the Empress, “I have done a little bit of pottery.” His Majesty stated, “I hope you will continue to play an active role.”
